Weight Loss Surgery

It is important to understand that all current medical interventions including weight loss surgery should not be considered a medical cure. Rather they are attempts to reduce the effects of excessive weight and alleviate the serious physical, emotional and social consequences of morbid obesity. Bariatric weight loss surgery is the only weight loss method that results in long-term weight loss. Our bariatric surgeons can help you determine if weight loss surgery is right for you and which specific surgical procedure is best for you.

Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band

A purely restrictive procedure that involves placing a band around the uppermost part of the stomach to create a small stomach pouch. The restriction created by the band on the stomach is adjusted over time via a port that is secured within the abdominal muscle.

Sleeve Gastrectomy*

The Sleeve Gastrectomy involves the reservoir portion of the stomach being removed, thus forming a narrow "tubular" stomach that fills easily. It is also a restrictive procedure.

*Sleeve Gastrectomy is not available at this time but may be available at a later date
